WP Simple Pay is integrated with the Stripe credit card processing platform. Like all payment processors, Stripe charges a small fee per transaction. However, joining Stripe is free.
For this method, we will create a payment button that you can add to any page or post.
We will use WP Simple Pay Lite because it is 100% free. However, WP Simple Pay Pro is also available if you need more advanced features. This release offers more customization options, a drag-and-drop form builder, and custom payment receipt emails.
Firstly, you must install and activate the WP Simple Pay plugin. If you need help, check out our guide on installing WordPress plugins.
After activation, the plugin will automatically start the WP Simple Pay setup wizard. Click the Let’s Get Started button to start accepting credit card payments.
The first step is to connect WP Simple Pay to your Stripe account. Don’t you have a
Stripe account yet? And also, a setup wizard will guide you through the process of creating a new account.
First, click the Connect to Stripe button.
On the next screen, WP Simple Pay will ask for your email address. If registered with Stripe, enter the address linked to your Stripe account.
Don’t have a Stripe account? And then, enter the email address you want to use for your new Stripe account.
Then just click on the Continue button.
WP Simple Pay will now check for a Stripe account linked to your email address. In addition, WP Simple Pay will ask for your Stripe password if it finds an account.

Now just click on the Payment tab.
You can decide how much to charge with the pay button.

WP Simple Pay uses dollar currency by default.

Now scroll down to the Button Text section.
This is the text that WordPress will display on the button.For example, WP Simple Pay uses “Pay Now” as the button label.
To change this, simply type new text in the Button Text field.
You can also change the button action text in this section.

WP Simple Pay uses the button style from your WordPress theme for the “default” button style.
Another option is to use the blue stripe style, which uses gradients and rounded corners.

Once you’re happy with what you see in the preview, it’s time to add the button to your WordPress site.

We recommend testing your button before you start accepting payments. By default, WP Simple Pay creates new payment buttons in test mode.
While in test mode, the website will not process credit card payments. To see that WP Simple Pay is currently in this mode, look at the toolbar at the top of your WordPress dashboard. It should say “test mode.”
If you go to a page or post where you’ve added this button, you’ll also see “Trial Mode” right below the button.
Stripe doesn’t show test payments by default! Fortunately, there’s an easy fix.
Simply log into your Stripe dashboard in a new tab to view your test data.
Then click the Payments tab. Then click the “Developer” slider in the upper right corner.
The Stripe dashboard refreshes to show the “Test data” banner. All test payments will appear in your Stripe dashboard.
Now we are ready to test the knob.
